TS Galaxy Crush Orbit College to Secure Third Straight Win. TS Galaxy crushed Orbit College 3-1 at the Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto on Saturday night to rack up a third successive win in the Betway Premiership.

Rockets Soar with Early Blitz and Solid Finish

TS Galaxy, nicknamed the Rockets, continued their strong turnaround in the 2025/26 Betway Premiership with a commanding 3-1 victory over newcomers Orbit College. The match, played under lights at Dobsonville Stadium on 30 August 2025, saw Galaxy climb to fourth place on the log. They now sit just four points behind co-leaders Sekhukhune United and Kaizer Chiefs, despite dropping points in their first two games of the season. For Orbit College, known as the Mswenko Boys, this marked their third straight defeat and fourth loss in five opening matches, leaving them in 15th spot and hovering near the relegation zone.
The win highlights Galaxy’s revival under coach Adnan Berganovic, who has turned things around after early setbacks. Orbit, freshly promoted, have struggled to adapt to top-flight demands, with only a single win against Siwelele FC amid losses to AmaZulu, Sekhukhune United, and Orlando Pirates. This result underscores the challenges for rookies in the competitive league, where experience often trumps enthusiasm.

Lightning Start Sets the Tone

Galaxy wasted no time, scoring after just 36 seconds—the fastest goal of the season so far. Siphesihle Maduna whipped in a low cross from the right flank, and Seluleko Mahlambi tucked it home from close range for 1-0. Mahlambi, in sensational form, continued his hot streak with his third goal in five games, adding to his two assists this campaign.
Orbit responded around the 10-minute mark with two free-kicks from Tshepo Matsemela. The first rattled the woodwork, and the second drew a sharp save from Galaxy goalkeeper Ira Tape. Galaxy nearly doubled their lead when Mpho Mvelase beat the offside trap, but Orbit keeper Sekhoane Moerane made a fine stop.
In the 17th minute, Galaxy won a penalty after Mahlambi pounced on a loose ball and drew a foul from Moerane. However, Moerane redeemed himself by saving Puso Dithejane’s spot-kick. The first half saw end-to-end action fade as both sides sought control, with Galaxy leading 1-0 at the break.

Second Half Dominance and Late Drama

Orbit missed a golden chance on the hour when Kobamelo Setlhodi’s cross evaded Tape, but substitute Gomolemo Khoto fired wide from close range. Galaxy punished the wastefulness in the 63rd minute. A flowing move ended with Maduna driving into the box and blasting a left-footed shot from a tight angle for 2-0—his first goal for the club.
Four minutes later, Dithejane raced to the byline and pulled back for an unmarked Mvelase to tap in the third. Orbit almost replied in the 74th minute when Siyabulela Mabele’s long-range strike beat Tape but hit the woodwork.
The hosts finally scored in the 85th minute. Substitutes Lethabo Modimoeng and Ayanda Lukhele linked up, with Lukhele netting from close range for 3-1. Galaxy’s night soured in the 88th minute when defender Lentswi Motaung earned a second yellow card and was sent off, leaving them with 10 men for the final moments.

Key Performances and Stats

Maduna earned Man of the Match honours for his goal and assist, driving Galaxy’s attack. Mahlambi was pivotal with a goal and assist, while Tape’s saves kept Orbit at bay. For Orbit, Matsemela and Mabele showed promise but lacked finishing.
Stats from the game: Galaxy held 56.9% possession, took 17 shots (3 on target), won 8 corners, and committed fouls leading to 3 yellows. Orbit managed 10 shots (7 on target), 2 corners, and 1 yellow. Galaxy’s efficiency shone through, converting chances despite Orbit’s higher shots on goal.
Team Lineups and Changes
Orbit College: Moerane, Setlhodi (Mkhabela 75’), Mokgosi, Nhlapo, Jingana, Mabele, Thibedi, Matsemela (Chweu 75’), Malatsi (Lukhele 67’), Saleng (Khoto 58’), Ramosala (Modimoeng 67’).
