Pietermaritzburg, South Africa – KwaZulu-Natal Premier Thamsanqa Ntuli has reaffirmed his dedication to a collaborative governance approach aimed at fostering unity and efficiency. Premier Ntuli made this clear during a meeting held with officials from the Office of the Premier last Friday, establishing an optimistic and constructive foundation for his administration.

A Warm Welcome and Emphasis on Unity

Addressing a room packed with eager staff in Pietermaritzburg, Ntuli welcomed all attendees, acknowledging their hard work and dedication. He sought to reassure staff about the leadership transition, highlighting the importance of inclusivity and teamwork.

“While working at King Cetshwayo District Municipality, I collaborated with everyone, irrespective of political affiliation. A new leader brings new expectations, meaning we must improve on what already exists,” Ntuli stated.

Strategic Priorities and Rapid Service Delivery

Premier Ntuli laid out several core priorities for his administration, placing a strong emphasis on swift service delivery, particularly in sectors that directly impact KwaZulu-Natal’s residents. He stressed the necessity for innovation and modernisation within government operations to stay aligned with the changing needs of the community.

“We need to work with speed to serve the people of KwaZulu-Natal. My leadership style will be collaborative and focused on building on the existing foundations to achieve greater efficiency and service delivery,” Ntuli added.

Encouraging Open Communication

Ntuli strongly advocated for open communication and the sharing of ideas, noting that “diverse perspectives are crucial for effective governance.” He assured the staff that their contributions are valued and underscored his commitment to their professional development.
