Flight Delays at OR Tambo
The Airports Company South Africa (Acsa) has warned of flight delays at OR Tambo International Airport on Monday. “Please be advised that due to refuelling challenges at OR Tambo International Airport, airlines are currently unable to refuel aircraft as normal. As a result, some flights may experience delays,” Acsa said in a statement.
Technicians are working to resolve the situation as quickly as possible. Passengers are advised to contact their airlines directly for further information.
This development comes just days after South African Airways (SAA) announced the suspension of a pilots’ strike that began last week. The strike, initiated by the South African Airways Pilots Association (SAAPA) over wage disputes, led to the cancellation of flights to Perth and São Paulo. An agreement was reached, granting pilots a 9.47% salary increase, allowing more than 100 pilots to return to duty and normal flight schedules to resume.
