By Thys Khiba – The corruption trial of former eThekwini Mayor Zandile Gumede and 21 others is expected to start at the Durban High Court on Monday, 06 March.
This comes after numerous postponements of the corruption trial against Gumede and others including companies.
Gumede and others face several charges, including conspiracy to commit corruption, corruption, fraud, money laundering, racketeering, contravention of the Municipal Finance Management Act and contravention of the Municipal Systems Act; amounting to over R300 million.
The trial began in August last year where the accused tendered their plea of not guilty to the charges preferred against them.
This is a developing story.
