Youth Business Chain Chairperson Mayalo gets a scholarship to study in China

By Thys Khiba – The Youth Business Chain Executive Chairperson, Michael Mayalo has been awarded with a life-changing and the prestigious Dongfang Foreign Student scholarship to go and study in Asia, China. 

Speaking to Free State Central News, Mayalo confirmed that this opportunity will inspire him to play a role in contributing and bringing knowledge back to his country, South Africa.

“I highly appreciate this life changing opportunity that has been granted to me, I look forward to playing a strategic role in contributing, learning and bringing knowledge back to my peace loving country [South Africa],” Mayalo said. 

Mayalo who is currently serving as the Executive Chairperson to the umbrella body of youth owned companies is an activist, former national student leader and a leader to various progressive organizations.

Dongfang Scholarships have been established in 2019 by Peking University to enables outstanding emerging leaders from all over the world to study and explore in China. 

Peking University is one of the top public universities in Beijing, China (Mainland). It is ranked #12 in QS World University Rankings 2023.

The Scholarship will gives him an opportunity Mayalo to further his studies at Peking University in Biejing (China) 

Mr Mayalo will travel to China to begin with his studies on the last week of August 2022.

During this period, Mr Mayalo hopes to work closely with lectures, scholar affiliated organizations and government of China.
