By Thys Khiba –The Young Communist League of South Africa (YCLSA) in the North West will hold its 6th provincial conference at Ngwenya Lodge, Stilfontein in Matlosana Local Municipality on Saturday, 29 April.
The provincial committee spokesperson Mogale Matsose confirmed the elective conference will convene under the theme of “Intensifying Youth Mobilization in Pursuit of a Socialist Order” from today until Sunday.
In their 5th provincial congress held in Itereleng Centre Muzimuhle, Vaal Reefs in June 2021, delegates elected TsietsiLetsebe as provincial secretary, Jeffrey Letsie as provincial chairperson, Nana Serunye as treasurer, Onke Xhinela as deputy secretary, and Lebo Tshepang Mmusi elected as deputy chairperson.
Delegates are expected to reflect on the state of their organisation in the province and access the work that has been done.
The league will also formulate policy positions and adopt resolutions.
“Moreover, the Provincial Congress will make a through assessment of the state of the revolution and receive a detailed political report that will be amongst other subjects reflecting on socio-economic conditions of youth in our province, state of governance and the Alliance, and international balance of forces,” said Matsose.
The North West ANC leader Bushy Maape and SACP provincial secretary Madoda Sambatha are expected to deliver political messages.
Maape, as the Premier, will reflect on the state and plans of government and private sector in developing the lives of young people in the province.
“The Congress will discuss matters affecting the youth in the province and receive Political message from the North West PYA (ANCYL, COSATU YWF, and SASCO),” said Matsose.
