Welkom – A 44 year old man is expected to appear at the Welkom Magistrate Court, on Monday, 15 July after being arrested for possession of drugs.
“Whilst busy with the search, 105 Mandrax tablets and 19,5 grams of Chrystal Meth with the street value of R14 400 were found hidden between bread slices,” said Police spokesperson, Colonel Thandi Mbambo.

The arrest comes after the police officials of the Welkom Flying Squad, namely Warrant Officers David Mlangeni and Corrie Spies, were informed about the suspect in possession of drugs walking at Mannys Welkom.
“The members acted swiftly and identified the suspect. They approached him and requested to search him.”

Meanwhile, the seven suspects who were arrested in Petrus Steyn for being in possession of drugs and unlicensed ammunition are expected to appear at a Magistrate Court sitting in Petrus Steyn on Wednesday 7 July.
“Seven people were found in one of the rooms. Upon searching the room they found 99.22 ammunition, a toy gun with two 9mm rounds. They also confiscated 49 sachets of Nyaope, 19 baggies of Crystal Meth and Cash,” said Colonel Mbambo. @fscentralnews
