In a recent press conference, ANC Gauteng Provincial Chairperson Panyaza Lesufi highlighted the urgent need for the Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG) to assist communities in the province with transformers and fix mini stations in areas without electricity.
Lesufi revealed shocking statistics, stating that approximately 2.4 million people in Gauteng are facing electricity challenges, despite being exempt from loadshedding. These challenges include stolen transformers, vandalized substations, and stolen copper wires, resulting in infrastructure issues that prevent thousands from accessing power.
Addressing the media after the Provincial Executive Committee Meeting, Lesufi emphasized the importance of prioritizing the provision of reliable electricity to all communities. He pledged to urge the GPG to take immediate action by allocating resources to replace stolen transformers, repair vandalized substations, and address infrastructure deficits. #ancgp #ancgauteng
