Police in Mpumalanga Urgently Seek Public Support in Apprehending Suspects Involved in Deadly Shooting

In a horrifying incident at a tavern in Kanyamazane on Sunday, two innocent lives were lost and numerous others injured. The local police force is now reaching out to the community, urging anyone with information to step forward and assist with the investigation.

The shooting, which occurred just after midnight, was carried out by two unidentified men wearing balaclavas. The suspects barged into the tavern, indiscriminately opening fire before fleeing the scene.

Tragically, one victim passed away on-site, while another succumbed to injuries later in the day. Two additional individuals are currently in serious condition at the hospital. The identities of the deceased are still unknown.

Recognizing the gravity of the situation, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela, the provincial commissioner of SAPS in Mpumalanga, has strongly condemned the incident. General Manamela expressed concerns about the growing incidence of crimes near and within liquor outlets.

“We trust that our communities will wholeheartedly assist us in this investigation by sharing any information they may have,” she stated emphatically.

The local authorities have launched a murder and attempted murder case, and investigations are underway to determine the motive behind the attack.

To expedite the investigation and apprehend the perpetrators, the police urge the public to come forward with any relevant information. They can contact the dedicated Crime Stop line at 08600 10111 or share details via the MYSAPSAPP. Callers may remain anonymous, and all information will be treated confidentially.
