Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF)
The Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) has launched an investigation into alleged issues regarding UIF payments and related matters at the Bellville Labour Centre.
In response to a media article highlighting these concerns, the UIF has sent a task team from its headquarters in Pretoria to intervene and provide timely solutions.
UIF Commissioner, Teboho Maruping, expressed his deep concern over workers’ difficulties in accessing their entitled benefits. He pledged to personally oversee the resolution of any problems identified, stating that workers must receive what is rightfully theirs.
The task team dispatched by the UIF is expected to meticulously assess the situation on the ground at Bellville.
Their objective is to ascertain the facts and compile a comprehensive report for Commissioner Maruping within a week. This speedy action underscores the UIF’s commitment to promptly addressing any issues that hinder efficient service delivery.
Furthermore, the UIF highlighted recent efforts to enhance the customer experience.
Initiatives such as the introduction of mobile buses, queue management systems, kiosks, online application platforms, free Wi-Fi, a data-free mobile application, and a free USSD platform have been implemented to ease the application process for beneficiaries.
These measures aim to provide increased accessibility, convenience, and efficiency for users of UIF services at all labour centres.
