Ficksburg – Three Lesotho foreign nationals are expected to appear before Ficksburg Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 28 May 2021, facing charge of dealing in dagga.
This is after members of the South African Police Services in Ficksburg, seized a suspicious looking vehicle with maize meal bags containing dagga. Therefore, three Lesotho foreign nationals, two males and one female persons, were arrested around 10h00 near Denmar Farm.
“On 2021-05-26 at approximately 10:00 two Ficksburg Highway patrol R26 road police officials intercepted three Lesotho foreign nationals near Denmar Farm whilst patrolling. They also conducting stop and search,” said SAPS Provincial Spokesperson Brigadier Motantsi Makhele.
The three suspects were driving a blue and yellow Honda Fit SUV from Lesotho. While, police officials were searching the vehicle, they have found six 50kg maize meal bags containing dagga to an estimated Street value of R128 000.
According to Brigadier Makhele, the three arrested suspects were on their way to Kimberly, in Northern Cape.
“The three suspects aged between 40 and 30 will be appearing before Ficksburg Magistrate court on Friday, 28 May 2021 facing charge of dealing in dagga,” said Brigadier Makhele.
