Eyewitness Accounts: Shock and Fear
Neighbours described a wave of panic as shots rang out late on a Saturday evening. One resident, whose words were captured by on‑scene footage, said: “We heard rapid gunfire, then saw the white Audi speeding off.” Another recalled the anxiety deepening as they realised the victims were outside a place of worship—raising unsettling questions about whether the mosque’s vicinity was the main target or incidental.

Motive Still Unknown, SAPS Intensifies Investigation
Police confirmed that motives for the killings remain unclear. Spokesperson Sibeko stated, “The police are investigating … the motive remains unclear and investigations are ongoing.” Authorities are appealing to anyone with information, CCTV footage, or dashcam videos to assist in identifying the suspects.
