Thembinkosi Lorch of Mamelodi Sundowns

However, Mamelodi Sundowns will face Orlando Pirates without one of their star players, Thembinkosi Lorch. According to Sundowns’ coach Rulani Mokwena, Lorch is sidelined due to an injury which might require surgery.
The news of Lorch’s absence was shared during the Nedbank Cup final press conference held in Sandton, Johannesburg on Thursday. Mokwena addressed the situation, stating, “He is injured. He has been removed from the group. He got injured against Stellies and he might have to undergo surgery.”
Adding a twist to the story, a video surfaced on social media recently showing Lorch dancing with two girls at what appears to be a house party. The video, later posted live on Instagram, caused a stir among internet users. Many weighed in on Lorch’s apparent happiness following his breakup with his baby mama, actress Natasha Thahane. This video has sparked a debate, but the coach remained clear that the player’s absence is due to an injury and not connected to the viral video.
The injury to Lorch is a significant blow to Mamelodi Sundowns as they prepare for the final showdown against Orlando Pirates. Both teams are looking to secure a domestic double – Sundowns have already clinched the DStv Premiership with six matches to spare, while Pirates celebrated their triumph in the MTN8 earlier in the season.
