The Ngwathe Municipality, in its dedication to enhancing service delivery, particularly water distribution, would like to inform the residents of Tumahole, Schonkenville, Parys, and road users of an upcoming temporary road closure.
On 28 July 2023, Mtimkulu street, which links Tumahole (old location) and Vaal Parys, will be closed between 08h00 and 14h00.
The closure is necessary for the installation of a water pipeline that will run across the street, connecting the old Lembede Primary/swimming pool area to the industrial areas and Vaal Parys.
Steve Naale, the Ngwathe municipality spokesperson, explained that this project aims to improve water distribution and ensure better service to the community.
During the closure, residents and motorists are advised to utilize Schonkenville road as an alternative route. The municipality regrets any inconvenience caused and kindly asks for understanding and cooperation during this time.
Naale said service delivery is at the heart of the Ngwathe municipality’s priorities, and this temporary road closure is just one of the many steps taken to ensure a more efficient and reliable water supply system. The inconvenience caused is deeply regretted, but the long-term benefits will greatly outweigh the temporary disruption.”
