The President of the Pan Africanist Congress (PAC), Mzwanele Nyhontso, has joined the call of the EFF leader Julius Malema to reject the Springbok emblem, name, and colors. According to Nyontso, this symbolizes the apartheid system and it is time for a rebranding that represents new South Africa.

Nyhontso acknowledges the support for the national rugby team but urges for a change in their image. He follows the teachings of political activist and former PAC Chairman, John Nyathi Pokela , who believed that apartheid should be destroyed rather than reformed.
EFF Leader Julius Malema has also reinforced the rejection of the Springbok emblem, name, and colors. He encourages his party members to stand firm and not apologize for their stance.
