The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has confirmed the payment dates for social grants in November 2024, detailing the schedule for the Older Persons, Disability, and Child grants. Beneficiaries can collect their payments starting early in the month, with a range of convenient options for access.
In November, SASSA beneficiaries can expect payments on the following dates:
• Older persons – Tuesday, 5 November
• Disability – Wednesday, 6 November
• Child – Thursday, 7 November
For many South Africans, social grants are a crucial lifeline, supporting households with essential needs, food, and healthcare. To simplify the process, SASSA has ensured beneficiaries can withdraw their funds from selected supermarkets, including Pick n Pay, Checkers, and Shoprite, or have the funds transferred directly into a bank account.
In its latest advisory, SASSA highlighted that beneficiaries are not required to withdraw the entire grant amount at once. The funds remain accessible in the beneficiary’s account until they choose to make a withdrawal. SASSA emphasized that visiting crowded collection points is unnecessary, offering a more flexible approach for those needing the grant for ongoing expenses.
