Actress Manaka Ranaka

South African actress Manaka Ranaka is grieving the untimely passing of her eldest daughter, Katlego Ranaka. The family confirmed that Katlego died on Thursday, 23 January 2025. 
In a heartfelt statement, cousin Thandokuhle Ranaka shared, “It is with heavy hearts that we share the sorrowful news of the passing of our cherished Katlego ‘KG’ Ranaka.” The family has requested privacy during this profoundly challenging time. 
Katlego, a multi-talented individual, was known for her work as an actress, musician, and radio DJ. She leaves behind a four-year-old son, Mpho. The cause of her death has not been officially disclosed. 
Manaka Ranaka, renowned for her roles in “Stokvel” and “Generations: The Legacy,” paid tribute to her daughter by sharing a video of a burning candle on social media, accompanied by emojis of a dove and a crying face. In another post, she shared a black image with crying emojis, reflecting her deep sorrow. 
A memorial service to honour Katlego’s life is planned for Friday, 31 January, followed by her funeral on Saturday, 1 February. Further details regarding the venue and time will be communicated at a later stage. 
The news of Katlego’s passing has led to an outpouring of condolences and support on social media, with fans and friends expressing their sympathies to the Ranaka family during this difficult time.
