The South African Government has learnt with sadness of the Pakistani train collision in a remote part of southern Sindh province which occurred on Monday, 07 June 2021, and caused the tragic loss of least 63 people.
Nearly 1,200 people were traveling on both trains, hence the magnitude of the disaster.
The causes of the accident are still unknown, but according to Federal Minister for Railways Azam Swati, the section where it occurred was really dangerous.
“The South African Government extends its condolences to the Government of Pakistan following this accident and extend its deepest sympathy to those families who lost their loved ones. The thoughts of the South African people are with the people of Pakistan, particularly the affected families”, said Department of International Relations and Cooperation
