Dhlomo did not hold back, calling McKenzie an “idiot” and making it clear there would be no spot for him on air. This exchange has stirred up debates on social media, with fans split between those who back Dhlomo’s honesty and others who see it as uncalled for.
The comment adds to an ongoing back-and-forth between the two, showing how personal jabs can quickly go viral in today’s digital age. As both men have strong followings, their words carry weight and often lead to wider talks about respect, politics, and celebrity influence.
The Viral Exchange on X That Started It All
It all kicked off on 16 October 2025 when a user on X asked Dhlomo: “Would you invite Gayton to your show? It seems like you dislike the guy.” Without missing a beat, the Kaya FM presenter shot back: “To do what here? The guy is an idiot.”
The reply spread like wildfire, racking up thousands of views and reactions. Dhlomo, known for his straight-talking style on his show Siz The World, has built a reputation for not shying away from tough opinions. This time, his target was McKenzie, the leader of the Patriotic Alliance and a key figure in the Government of National Unity.
Fans quickly jumped in. Some praised Dhlomo for keeping it real, with one saying: “Sizwe always tells it like it is – no filter!” Others felt it crossed a line, especially since McKenzie holds a high government post. “Calling a minister an idiot? That’s disrespectful,” another user commented.
Background to the Growing Feud
Between Dhlomo and McKenzie
This is not the first time Dhlomo has taken aim at McKenzie. Back in August 2025, he mocked the minister over a statement seen as hypocritical. McKenzie had spoken out on an issue, but Dhlomo pointed out past actions that seemed to contradict his words. At the time, Dhlomo again used strong language, hinting at deeper dislike.
McKenzie, a former gangster turned politician, has his own share of controversies. He has been open about his past, using it to connect with voters in coloured communities. As minister, he has pushed for changes in sports and arts, but his bold style has rubbed some the wrong way – including Dhlomo.
The two have clashed before on topics like sports funding and cultural issues. Dhlomo, a media veteran with roots in MTV and now radio, often shares his views on current events. His show covers everything from music to politics, drawing listeners who enjoy his no-nonsense take.
While McKenzie has not directly responded to the latest jab, his supporters have defended him online. One post read: “Gayton is doing real work for the people – Sizwe should focus on his mic.”
