Former Free State Premier Sefora Ntombela
Phuthaditjhaba, Free State – The Sefora Ntombela Foundation, a philanthropic entity established by the former Free State Premier, Sefora Ntombela, is ready to unveil its agricultural project aimed at empowering women, which will be launched on Wednesday, the 7th of February, 2024, at Hola Le Rona Educare in Phuthaditjhaba.
In response to the ongoing struggles with hunger and poverty plaguing South Africa, the Sefora Ntombela Foundation has taken a proactive stance with the announcement of a significant initiative purposed to catalyze change in the agricultural sector. This initiative is expected to bring hope and practical solutions to communities by placing women at the forefront of the fight against food insecurity.
“Food security is key to sustainable development, with many people in South Africa experiencing hunger and poverty. Sefora Ntombela Foundation is launching an agricultural project and development initiative aimed at reducing hunger and poverty. The foundation seeks to empower women in the agriculture sector, fostering economic growth.” said Foundation in a statement
The launch event, scheduled for 10 AM, promises to introduce an array of strategies focused on:
- Establishing food gardens as a cornerstone approach to diminish poverty and alleviate hunger across communities.
- Generating employment opportunities to stimulate local economic growth and stability.
- Providing dedicated support and resources to upskill and advance women within the agricultural sector.
