SAFA Suspends Hollywoodbets Super League with Immediate Effect

SAFA have confirmed that the National Women’s Soccer League (Hollywoodbets Super League) is set to resume this weekend. This Follows four weeks of inactivity due to the rapid spread of infections relating to the delta variant of the COVID-19 virus, said SAFA.

Reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies to play Tsunami Queens at Intabazwe Stadium,Harrismith on 7 August 2021,Today, in a match that was postponed in July 2021 when some of the Sundowns Ladies players were called up to the National team. Kickoff is scheduled for 15h00 .

JVW Ladies to play Coal City Wizards at Tsakani Stadium, today, 07 August 2021. Kickoff is scheduled for 14h30.

“We are excited with the return of the Hollywoodbets Super league next weekend following advise from our CMO (Chief Medical Officer) and consultation with our sponsors and the SABC. I’m certain that teams have been craving for some league action in the past few weeks. In taking this decision we were also mindful that the pandemic is still with us thus we have requested all clubs to observe the health and safety protocols as recommended by our CMO”, said SAFA COO, Ms Lydia Monyepao.
