Johannesburg – The Economic Freedom Fighters are advising the South African government to consider using the Russian and Chinese vaccines, which they believe that it has proven to be of better efficacy than Euro-America vaccines.
This is after the Minister of Health department announces that South African government will temporarily suspend the roll-out of the Johnson & Johnson Covid-19 vaccine, following the view of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regarding the suspension of the use of the vaccine in America.
In an interview with Free State Central News, the EFF national spokesperson Vuyani Pambo has indicated that there is no logic of why South African government is not buying the Chinese vaccines.
“Finally, we urge the South African government to consider the Russian and Chinese vaccines, which up to this point, have proven to be of better efficacy than Euro-American vaccines,” said EFF Spokesperson Vuyani Pambo.
Meanwhile, the EFF is also advising the South African President and health Minister, Cyril Ramaphosa and Dr. Zweli Mkhize to not abandon their duty to protect their people from a possible health related threat in regards to the Johnson & Johnson vaccine in favour of ‘their business associates.’
“The EFF thus calls for an immediate halt to the Johnson & Johnson vaccine rollout pending a completion of the investigation to the severe adverse effects in six cases cited by the FDA and CDC and an immediate replacement of the other available vaccines.”
Botswana is investigating the deaths of two among thousands of people who had been given doses of AstraZeneca’s Covid-19 vaccine to see if there is any link, the health ministry said.
At least 31 000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, have been administered in Botswana as , the only vaccine it has started rolling out.
