Before she even arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, fans were abuzz with speculation after a portrait shared on Instagram by photographer Miles Diggs revealed Rihanna’s baby bump in full view.

In the portrait, Rihanna embraced this year’s Met Gala theme — celebrating “The Garden of Time” with nods to Black dandyism — wearing a tailored grey Miu Miu ensemble. The outfit featured a cropped blouse that delicately framed her visible baby bump, a matching skirt, fur stole, and sleek knee-high boots. She completed the look with a vintage-style black cloche hat, paying homage to classic silhouettes while making a bold modern statement.
The image was released hours before her red carpet appearance, setting social media alight with excitement. Shortly after, A$AP Rocky, who is one of this year’s co-chairs of the Met Gala, confirmed the pregnancy during red carpet interviews. When congratulated by reporters, he simply smiled and said, “Thank you, thank you, thank you. I’m glad everybody’s happy for us because we’re definitely happy.”

True to her tradition of arriving fashionably late, Rihanna made her Met Gala entrance after nearly all other attendees had already taken to the red carpet. This isn’t Rihanna’s first time redefining how celebrity pregnancies are revealed. In 2023, she made global headlines by unveiling her second pregnancy during the Super Bowl halftime show — performing on one of the world’s biggest stages in a custom red outfit that highlighted her growing bump. She later attended the 2023 Met Gala while pregnant with her son, Riot, born in August 2023.
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s first child, RZA, was born in May 2022, and since then, the couple has become increasingly open about embracing family life, all while continuing to lead in music, fashion, and beauty.
