PRETORIA – President Cyril Ramaphosa, addressing on Wednesday, committed to advancing the interests of all South Africans and creating robust employment opportunities through the Government of National Unity (GNU). Unveiling Unity and Job Creation
“We want to create jobs. We are going to get everyone in the Government of National Unity to create jobs. I am going to make sure that it happens,” declared President Ramaphosa to a fervent crowd. This firm commitment marks the advent of the seventh administration, driven by a clear mandate to foster unity and economic growth.
President Ramaphosa emphasized that the GNU aims to collectively advance the nation’s interests. “Today we are opening a new chapter in the life of our country. We are going to have a government of national unity where we are going to work together united so that we can advance your interests. The President urged all political factions within the GNU to collaborate in serving the South African populace. “The people of South Africa did not give one political party power to rule this country; the people of South Africa wanted a Government of National Unity to rule this country,” he asserted, highlighting the collective power vested by the electorate.

Reflecting on Three Decades of Freedom
The inauguration aligns with the commemoration of South Africa’s 30 years of democracy, a poignant reminder of the nation’s journey and progress. On 27 April 1994, South Africa held its first democratic elections, a watershed moment that epitomised liberation and inclusivity.
