The African National Congress (ANC) has announced that the nomination process for the National Executive Committee, ANC top leadership and other leadership structures, will be opened from August 2022, after the National Policy Conference of the party.
The 55th National Elective Conference is scheduled to take place from December the 16th to the 20th.
ANC national spokesperson, Pule Mabe says they will not tolerate the tendencies of both ANC members and leaders to publicly announce their preferred candidates for leadership roles in the ANC.
“According to the 55th National Conference road map, nomination for the NEC by branches will start in August 2022 after the National Policy Conference,” says Mabe.

Early this year, Eastern Cape African National Congress (ANC) Chairperson, Oscar Mabuyane, also took a swipe at people sowing divisions within the party.
He was speaking in Ngcobo, at an event to mark the ANC’s 110th anniversary.
Mabuyane applauded the current leadership and added his voice to the calls to implement the findings of the Commission of Inquiry into Allegations of State Capture regardless of who is affected.
The Eastern Cape is set to have its provincial conference and indications are that the position of the provincial Chairperson will be highly contested.
Mabuyane stressed the importance of unity in the party.
