According to Prince Mashele, he and Herman Mashaba agreed not to disclose the book’s funding .
“The contract that I had signed with Herman had a non-disclosure provision, so I couldn’t disclose to other parties the contract that I had signed with Herman Mashaba”said Mashele in an Interview with SABC’s Liezle Wilson.
This was in response to media reports that Prince Mashele had been bribed by Herman Mashaba to write a book about him for 12.5 million rands.
Mashele also said there was no provision that required him to disclose the source of the funding for the research project to Jonathan Ball Publishers .
“This is very important and I did not disclose because one, there was no provision in Jonathan’s contract. Number two”
Jonathan Ball Publishers said monday that they’re pulling Herman Mashaba’s unauthorised biography “The Outsider” from the market. It comes after disclosures that the ActionSA leader paid Prince Mashele R12.5Million to compose the book.
