President Cyril Ramaphosa is set to host His Majesty King Mswati III, the reigning monarch of the Kingdom of eSwatini, at a working visit scheduled for Monday, 15 April 2024. The meeting will unfold at Mahlamba Ndlopfu, the President’s stately residence in Pretoria, marking a continued tradition of warm relations between the South African and eSwatini leadership.
The upcoming visit by King Mswati III is poised to strengthen the already robust ties between the two neighbouring nations. Both leaders are expected to delve into discussions that will further mutual interests, encompassing both political and trade matters.
Vincent Magwenya, the spokesperson for President Ramaphosa, provided insights into the essence of this high-level meeting. “The visit follows a courtesy visit by President Cyril Ramaphosa to His Majesty King Mswati III in Lozitha, eSwatini on Wednesday, 03 April 2024,” Magwenya explained, underscoring the reciprocal nature of these diplomatic overtures. He further highlighted the solid foundation upon which the relationship between South Africa and eSwatini is built, saying, “South Africa and eSwatini share strong historical bonds as well as mutually beneficial political and trade ties.”
This exchange underscores a tradition of close collaboration and shared values between the two countries, rooted in a common history and a vision for prosperity in the African continent. It also reflects the ongoing commitment of both nations to dialogue and cooperation as means of advancing their bilateral agenda.
