The Premier of the Free State Province Sefora Ntombela together with various social partners will tomorrow, 29 December 2021, visit the areas that were severely affected by the recent rainfall and violent storms.
Premier Ntombela will visit the affected community of Jacobsdal in Letsemeng local municipality to assess the extent of the damage and provide support.
Houses , shacks, and a government recreation centre were damaged on christmas day.
Residents were forced to leave their houses when the roofs were blown off by strong winds.
“Many communities across the province were badly affected by the storms resulting in many of our people losing their property. The Premier has committed government intervention through the disaster management unit to all the affected areas in the province, this intervention has already been activated.” , said Sello Pieterson, Premier’s Spokesperson.
The other areas will be visited by the different members of the Executive Council as part of government intervention.
