Premier Mxolisi Dukwana has expressed his deep regret and shock, at the passing of the former Premier of the Free State province, Ms Beatrice Marshoff.
Premier Dukwana, extends his deepest condolences to the Marshoff family and next of kin.
Former Premier Marshoff, was one of the four female Premiers the Free State has had, since the dawn of democracy in 1994. She succeeded late former Premier Winkie Direko as the premier from April 2004 until May 2009 and was replaced by Ace Magashule on 6 May 2009.
“She served the people of the Free State province with great honour and distinction, particularly at a time, when female leaders in such positions, was a great rarity. Former Premier Marshoff was 66 years – old at the time of her death.” said Premier Dukwana
Funeral details will be announced in due course.
