POST BANK

In a recent announcement, Postbank has successfully resolved the technical glitches that affected the withdrawal of funds for certain South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) grant beneficiaries.

This glitch also impacted SASSA Social Relief of Distress (SRD) R350 withdrawals within various retailers. However, Postbank has assured customers that the issue has been rectified, allowing them to access their social grants immediately.

According to Dr Bongani Diako, spokesperson for Postbank, customers using the Postbank SASSA Gold Cards can now conveniently withdraw their funds from ATMs and Post Office branches.

Additionally, the processing of fund reversals for accounts affected by the system error is currently underway. Beneficiaries are advised to be patient as the funds are expected to be reversed into their accounts within the next 24 hours.

Although the technical teams at Postbank are diligently working on restoring full transaction capacity within retailers, there are still intermittent challenges with transactions performed through this channel.

Postbank apologizes to their valued customers for any inconvenience caused and appreciates their patience during this time. Regular and detailed updates will continue to be provided to keep customers informed.

Furthermore, Postbank assures social grants recipients that the technical challenges experienced with withdrawals are isolated incidents and do not impact the validity of the Postbank SASS Gold Cards.

These cards remain valid for accessing social grants payments, regardless of the expiry date written on them, until they are replaced by Postbank within the designated replacement period granted by the Reserve Bank.
