New Head Coach Pitso Mosimane Begins at Abha FC, Facing Tough Challenge to Keep Team in Saudi Arabia Pro League
Pitso Mosimane has wasted no time in getting started as the new head coach of Abha FC. He recently signed a four-month contract with the team, which is currently ranked second to last in the league. His primary goal is to lead Abha FC to safety and secure their position in the Saudi Arabia Pro League for the next season.
Sports MD Moira Tlhagale confirmed that Pitso officially joined Saudi Arabia club Abha FC on Thursday. Although the club offered him an 18-month contract, Mosimane’s management chose a short-term deal.
This return to Saudi Arabia marks the next chapter in Mosimane’s successful coaching career. He previously achieved major success with Al Ahli Jeddah, promoting them to the Pro League and winning the Saudi First Division Yelo League title last season.
Mosimane has brought his coaching staff, including Maahier Davids, Kabelo Rangoaga, Musi Matlaba, Kyle Solomon, and goalkeeper coach Hamad Alyami, to Abha for the remainder of the 2023/2024 season.
The South African opposition political party, Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) says that the Mamelodi Sundowns supporters have displayed the highest form of self-hate after they were seen in a video footage insulting Al Ahly Coach Pitso Mosimane.
