Pastor Mboro’s Church Allegedly Attacked by COSAS Members Under ANCYL President’s Direction
Renowned South African religious leader, Pastor Paseka “Mboro” Motsoeneng, has made startling accusations against the African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) President, Collen Malatji. According to Mboro, Malatji allegedly directed members of COSAS (Congress of South African Students) to burn his church while Mboro was being held in Boksburg Prison. The claims, made during a recent appearance on The Hustlers Corner SA with DJ Sbu.
Mboro, who has had a tumultuous relationship with various figures in South Africa’s political landscape, now seeks justice as he plans to take legal action against those involved. The pastor expressed his desire for accountability and emphasized that while he is open to reconciliation, there must be consequences for the actions of those responsible.
In his statement, Mboro said: “This youth leader of the ANC must learn; what he has done is criminal. He led this act. They are saying that young people received instructions from him to burn the church. He was manipulated by the Malaza family.”
Mboro’s claims suggest that the ANC Youth League President may have been influenced by other parties to incite the violence. He further indicated his willingness to forgive but made it clear that public apologies and restitution are necessary steps for reconciliation.
40 Days in Boksburg Prison: Mboro’s Harrowing Ordeal
Pastor Mboro also shared his recent experience in Boksburg Prison, where he was held for 40 days following his arrest. Mboro detailed the traumatic conditions in prison and his efforts to protect himself. He recalled how his faith played a central role in his survival during his incarceration.
“When I arrived in prison, it was shouts of ‘God is with us!’ I didn’t understand the impact I had made. Prisoners, taxi drivers, and even the guards knew my name. God protected me in that place,” Mboro revealed.
He also described a life-threatening situation where one of the inmates had planned to stab him. However, the pastor’s prayers and influence over the other inmates helped de-escalate the situation. In his recounting of events, Mboro highlighted the power of prayer and his deep connection with his faith, which ultimately saved him.
Despite the dangers he faced, Mboro expressed gratitude for the spiritual growth he experienced while behind bars, stating that his time in prison gave him the opportunity to reflect on his life’s purpose and reconnect with his ministry.
Mboro’s Relationship with Julius Malema and the EFF
During his interview on The Hustlers Corner SA, Mboro also reflected on his past relationship with the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and its leader, Julius Malema. Mboro revealed that he had initially supported the EFF during its early days, believing in its vision and leadership. However, he expressed disappointment with how things unfolded, noting that promises made by Malema and others were never fulfilled.
“I made a deal with honourable Julius Malema and Dr Mbuyiseni Ndlozi. When they came here at home, they were sitting that side… They promised that once they were in Parliament, they would help us build and support our ministry. If I was smart like now, we would have recorded it… but we do have some records,” Mboro said during the interview.
The pastor also mentioned that despite his initial support for the EFF, he paid a heavy price for his loyalty, with many in the political space turning their backs on him once they had achieved their goals. This experience left Mboro feeling betrayed but also wiser about the nature of politics in South Africa.
The Allegations Against Collen Malatji and COSAS
The core of Pastor Mboro’s allegations centers around the role of ANCYL President Collen Malatji. Mboro claims that Malatji gave explicit instructions to COSAS members to burn his church as part of a broader campaign against him. The church, which serves as the headquarters of his “Incredible Happenings” ministry, has been a vital part of Mboro’s work for many years.
The pastor believes that the attack was politically motivated and that Malatji was manipulated by individuals with personal grievances against him. Mboro specifically pointed to the Malaza family as being behind the alleged conspiracy. He further explained that his son had become entangled with this family, leading to a series of conflicts that ultimately culminated in the burning of the church.
Mboro stressed the importance of justice and accountability, saying: “I want peace. If he [Malatji] goes to prison, he will understand that there is no youth league leader there; Boksburg Prison is the most dangerous prison.”
While Mboro has expressed a desire for reconciliation, he has made it clear that the law must take its course, and those responsible must face the consequences of their actions. He also emphasized the need for the perpetrators to raise funds to rebuild the church, which he sees as an essential step in making amends.
Mboro’s Call for Reconciliation and Peace
Despite the gravity of the allegations and the destruction of his church, Pastor Mboro has remained committed to the idea of reconciliation. He has called on those involved in the attack, including Collen Malatji and the COSAS members, to come forward and take responsibility for their actions.
Mboro’s stance is one of forgiveness, but he insists that there must be a public acknowledgment of wrongdoing. He has proposed that the young people involved work with him to rebuild the church as a symbol of their repentance and commitment to peace.
“I want them to be rehabilitated,” Mboro said. “Let us sit down and talk about how we can rebuild the church and heal the wounds caused by this act.”
As the legal proceedings continue, Pastor Mboro’s focus remains on healing and restoration, both for his church and for the young people involved in the attack. He hopes that this experience will serve as a lesson for those who were manipulated into committing such a crime and that it will lead to a broader conversation about the role of youth in South African society.
