Orlando Pirates Secures 1-0 Victory Against Amazulu in DSTV Premiership

The Orlando Pirates FC secured a 1 – 0 win, against AmaZulu FC at the Orlando Stadium moving up to the position in the DSTV Premiership league standings alongside Stellenbosch FC. With their victory in sight they are gearing up to face Royal AM on April 28. On the side AmaZulu finds themselves in place trailing three points behind Golden Arrows. Coach Pablo Franco Martins team is aiming for a win against Chippa United at home on April 27.

Despite a start by Usuthu with players like Hendrick Ekstein and Victor Letsoalo showing energy on the field they couldn’t capitalize on scoring opportunities. The game took a turn when Abubaker Mobara was sent off in the minute for obstructing a goal scoring chance for Orlando Pirates forcing AmaZulu to play with ten men. The first half ended in a stalemate keeping fans on edge.

AmaZulus resilience was commendable, throughout the match.
Despite being outnumbered the team applied pressure, on the Pirates goalkeeper, Sipho Chaine. The former Bloemfontein Celtic player played a role in stopping shots from Augustine Mulenga and Ben Motshwari, who were previously players for the Pirates maintaining a clean sheet.

The game took a turn in the minute when Jose Riveiro made a move by substituting Kabelo Dlamini with Monnapule Saleng. Saleng, known for his energy and speed set up the assist for Tshegofatso Mabasa. Mabasa seized the opportunity in the minute to score his goal of the season in the league securing a hard earned win for the Pirates.
