By Thys Khiba – The DStv premiership side Orlando Pirates has announced the appointment Helmi Gueldich as Conditioning Coach on Thursday.
Gueldich is expected to collaborate and form a partnership with Michel Bellver to support Jose Rivero’s technical team.
“This appointment couldn’t come at a more crucial time, as the Buccaneers are gearing up to compete in five challenging competitions this season.
“The demanding schedule makes it imperative that the players remain consistently available for selection,” said the club in a statement.

Gueldich previously worked as the Strength and Conditioning (S&C) coach for Tanzanian League Champions, Yanga FC.
He is a seasoned professional who holds a PhD in Exercise Science.
Buccaneers said his knowledge and background will be a valuable asset to the team. The club has recently played two DStv premiership matches against Stellenbosch and Royal AM.
In their opening fixture, Pirates failed to beat Stellenbosch at Danie Craven Stadium on Saturday as they fell to a 1-0 defeat.
On Tuesday night, Happy People had an impressive first-half which assisted them to a 4-2 win over Royal AM at Orlando Stadium.
The club has announced Katlego Otladisa, Patrick Maswanganyi, Lesedi Kapinga, Karim Kimvuidi, Melusi Buthelezi and Sephelo Baloni as their recent signings.
