Mahikeng – The Young Communist League of South Africa (YCLSA) in the North West province has warned the African National Congress (ANC) of another anticipated disaster in the local government sphere, of deploying members without capacity to lead into political positions in municipalities.

“The YCLSA in the province warns that this could be a recipe for another wave of disaster just as in 2016 when wrong deployment lists were deliberately used to deploy people without capacity into political positions in municipalities,” said YCLSA Provincial Secretary Tsietsi Letsebe.

This is after it was discovered that list of ANC deployment to municipalities were changed.

The YCLSA confirmed that deployment lists to local government in the province is not the one adopted according to their resolutions and corrections by the extended Interim Provincial Committee (IPC), where the ANC together with their Leagues and the Alliance had reached consensus on who are ‘comrades’ to be deployed to local government.

With the changed and ‘compromised’ list, Letsebe predicts another challenges for the local municipalities in the province.

“In fact, we wish to caution the ANC that if we are not careful, we may end up with even more problems at the local sphere of government in the province if there is no speedily and drastic steps to salvage the situation,” said Letsebe.

The Moses Kotane YCLSA calls for disciplinary action to be taken against unnamed members who have allegedly submitted the changed list as they view this as a result of going against the views of majority.

“Equally, those responsible for submission of this misinformation must be taken through internal disciplinary process of the organization for undermining the collective wisdom of structures,”said Letsebe.

Speaking to Free State Central News, Letsebe said the corrected ANC deployment list in the province was finalised and submitted to the head office.“…however, it appears that IEC continued with capturing the wrong information and we wish to make a clarion call that this error be corrected before it leads to serious challenges.”

“These counter revolutionaries must know that we will not fold our arms and be spectators as young people of this province when people who failed to better our lives use our poverty to defend their narrow political ends.” @fscentralnews
