Nigerian Augustine Kwem came off the bench to score a 12-minute hat-trick and give AmaZulu a 3-1 victory over Golden Arrows on Sunday in the South African Premiership.
Kwem’s first goal after 80 minutes cancelled the early lead Gladwin Shitolo had given Arrows.
Kwem then netted twice more in the Durban derby to lift AmaZulu three places to eighth.
The hat-trick took his season total to four goals, two less than the frontrunners in the scoring race, Tshegofatso Mabasa of Moroka Swallows and Khanyiso Mayo of Cape Town City.
Arrows remain fourth, four points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, having played three matches more, after a second straight Premiership loss.
On a profitable day for Nigerian forwards, Chibuike Ohizu snatched a spectacular winner as lowly Sekhukhune United came from behind to beat second-placed SuperSport United 2-1 in Polokwane.
Ohizu back-heeled the ball past goalkeeper Ricardo Goss as SuperSport failed for the second time in five days to win in the northern city and replace Sundowns in first place.
