By Steve Naale, Managing Editor of Ngwathe News

Ngwathe Local Municipality has officially released the first edition of its newspaper, Ngwathe News, which is now available for download on the municipality’s website and in printed copies at all municipal buildings across Parys, Tumahole, Vredefort, Heilbron, Koppies, and Edenville. The publication aims to keep residents informed about municipal projects, service delivery milestones, and development updates, promoting transparency and community engagement. The inaugural issue, dated Thursday, 9 October 2025, features key stories such as the Koppies–Kwakwatsi water pipeline breakthrough, Tumahole borehole relief project, restored street and Apollo lights, reopening of the Tumahole municipal office, and the revival of the Traffic Department. Executive Mayor Cllr Victoria De Beer-Mthombeni said the newspaper is “a direct channel to share progress, listen to community feedback, and strengthen the partnership between residents and their municipality,” while Municipal Manager Dr Futhuli P. Mothamaha reaffirmed that Ngwathe News reflects a new era of accountability and visible service delivery.
