Ngwathe municipality distances itself from Sunday protest 7

This comes after a group of Ngwathe residents released a message to mobilize community for a service delivery and water supplyprotest, which is expected to take place on Sunday.

“We have noted a number of complaints from our residents regarding some of the basic services, water in particular. I wish to emphasize to our residents that we are getting into the bottom of this matter and treat it with the utmost urgency,” De Beer-Mthombeni said.

The municipality said they are treating service delivery challenges of water supply as an urgent matter.

The municipality accused some residents of using the municipal logo for their own ulterior motives.

“I want to request our residents that, as much as we are working around the clock to improve the quality of our services, we are not going to allow some people to use municipal logo to mislead other residents,” said De Beer-Mthombeni.

De Beer-Mthombeni promised to update residents about a program of action to solve the issue of water and other service delivery issues.

The executive mayor thanked residents who are continue to cooperate and support the municipality.

This is a developing story.
