Loadshedding

Eskom has announced multiple stages of loadshedding for the weekend, with Stage 3 implemented from 16:00 on Friday until 05:00 on Saturday, followed by Stage 1 until 16:00. Further, Stage 2 loadshedding will be in place from 16:00 on Saturday until 05:00 on Sunday. Loadshedding will then be suspended from 05:00 until 16:00 on Sunday, only to resume with Stage 1 from 16:00 until 05:00 on Monday.

According to the power utility, the lower stages of loadshedding are due to the return to service of some generation units in the past 48 hours, in addition to the expected decrease in weekend demand.

Eskom will provide an update on the outlook for the week ahead on Sunday, and will notify the public of any significant changes.
