Mpumalanga woman in court for murdering her ex-boyfriend“

By Thys Khiba – Mpumalanga Ntimbifuthi Nkomo appeared in the Nkomazi Magistrates’ Court on Monday and remanded in custody for allegedly murdering her ex-boyfriend on Sunday 02 October.

This comes after Nkomo had exchange of words with her ex-lover at her residential place.

“It is alleged that Sipho Ngomane, also aged 35, visited his ex-girlfriend’s residential place in the early hours of Sunday (02 October 2022). Information at police disposal revealed that the man knocked at the door and after a while the woman came out,” said Mpumalanga Police spokesperson Brigadier Selvy Mohlala.

Police confirmed that the man was somehow found later by Nkomo laying in the street at around 07:00 am with a stab wound in the upper body (chest).

“The probe by the police suggests that the woman allegedly stabbed him during their squabble and left him outside her house,” said Mohlala.

After allegedly stabbing Ngomane who was taken to Tonga hospital but succumbed to the injury, the suspect later called for help.

Nkomo was arrested and charged with murder.

A 35-year-old woman from Mzinti near Komatipoort (in Nkomazi) is expected to remain behind bars until 06th October for a formal bail application.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, 02 October Elukwatini Mpumalanga Police found a body in Tjakstad of an eight-year-old boy who was reported missing on Friday, 30 September.

“His partly decomposed body was found in a street close to his house where the family together with police have previously conducted a search with no success.”

Police are still waiting for post-mortem results to determine the cause of death meanwhile the investigation continues.

The Provincial Commissioner in the province, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela promised the community that they will dig deeper in their investigation to ensure that justice is served without fear or favour.
