MK Party Proclaims Zuma as Their ‘Presidential’ Amidst Bold Election Manifesto

Bonginkosi Khanyile, the leader of the newly formed uMkhonto weSizwe Youth League (MK Party Youth), has pronounced former President Jacob Zuma as the heavyweight leading their presidential ticket. The announcement comes ahead of what promises to be a fiercely contested national and provincial election on May 29.

“We are unavailable to discuss in hotels or any other place. When you call and if you don’t say Zuma is President, we drop your call and block you,” declared Khanyile, indicating an unwavering loyalty to the ex-president that has certainly raised eyebrows.

Zuma, who has recently thrown his support behind the splinter party without officially severing ties with the ANC, has become the focal point of MKP’s electoral campaign. The registration of the party, steered by Jabulani Khumalo who claims the second spot on the MKP list, signals a conspicuous shift in the political landscape.

Amid the turmoil surrounding him and his party’s unconventional debut, Khanyile took to the podium to shed light on not only MKP’s roadmap to parliament but also the ongoing legal scuffles with the ANC and the contemporary political tempests shaking the nation.

The youth leader didn’t shy away from outlining the party’s transformative agenda, with a particular emphasis on land redistribution. “Give us land and not R350. Don’t give us R350 in exchange for land and jobs. We want to build our own double storeys, double fridges, and double kitchens. We want to go to dieticians,” Khanyile passionately expressed, casting a vision of prosperity unhinged from what he perceives as governmental tokenism.

In the same vein, Khanyile didn’t pull punches when addressing the controversial ambitions of MKP. He stated, “When MK takes over, the first thing we do is chop the head of Raymond Zondo,” making a fiery metaphorical statement about the Constitutional Court Justice who led the Commission of Inquiry into State Capture.

Khanyile further stoked the flames by openly accusing SACP leader Blade Nzimande of theft: “Blade Nzimande must be jailed, he stole 40 million rands. If I am wrong he must sue me. I will produce the voice note; he is a thug and a thief.”

The youth leader also had some choice words for Fikile Mbalula, labeling the current Secretary General as lacking in substance: “You are not a credible Secretary-General, you are just a talkative person with no credibility. I am very credible.”

Tapping into the zeitgeist of youth empowerment, Khanyile called for compulsory military service for young South Africans: “All young people at 18 must go to the military, and no more shall we have young people roaming the streets.” He argued for military training in various fields, including medicine, to ensure career paths for the youth. Furthermore, he advocated for a religious resuscitation in schools stating, “We want God back in schools.”

In a final and resolute remark, Khanyile issued an ultimatum that underscores the seriousness with which MKP approaches the forthcoming elections: “Remove MK and Zuma on the ballot, there won’t be elections in this country.”
