The Ministry of Electricity confirmed that Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, the Minister of Electricity, was involved in a car accident on Saturday,14 April 2024. The incident occurred as the Minister was making his way from the North West Province to Gauteng, a journey he embarked on following his ANC’s election campaign within the province.

According to the Ministry of Electricity, “The accident involved the car the Minister was being driven in with two protectors, and another vehicle. All individuals involved in the accident received prompt medical attention, and after a thorough examination, the Minister has been discharged without hospital admission.”

The Ministry continued, “The Minister is doing well and has expressed his heartfelt and sincere wishes for a speedy and optimal recovery to those injured in the accident. He also sends best wishes to all individuals affected by the incident.”

Dr Ramokgopa’s activities in the North West Province had seen him deeply involved in engaging the electorate. Just yesterday, he partook in a religious service at the African Apostolic Church at Mareetsane Village as a segment of the ANC’s Church Visitation programme. Notably, he was in the company of the ANC North West PEC & REC, showcasing a united front in the campaign endeavours.

The Minister’s day was further packed as he embarked on a door-to-door outreach and attended a community meeting in ward 10, Mareetsane, in the Ngaka Modiri Molema Region. These activities were spearheaded by the NW ANC Elections Head, Saliva Molapisi, with Dr. Ramokgopa playing a vital role as an ANC NEC Deployee.
