Metsimaholo Local Municipality, Mayor Jack Malindi
Mayor Jack Malindi has announced the appointment of a new mayoral committee for Metsimaholo Local Municipality on Friday. The committee comprises members from both the African National Congress (ANC) and Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF).
The following Councillors will constitute the mayoral committee:
- ClIr A. Motaung: Human Settlement.
- Clir L. Nhlapo: Solid waste
- Clir S. Motjeane: Organizational Development and Corporate Services
- ClIr L. Tsotetsi: Parks, Sports, Arts and Culture
- ClIr M. Mofokeng: Public Safety, Security, Traffic and Disaster
- Clir L. Makhefu: Local Economic Development
- ClIr M. Poho: Infrastructure and Technical services
- ClIr L. Tshongwe: Finance &IDP
- ClIr D. Mofokeng: Special Programmes.

The decision to form a coalition committee comes after the Metsimaholo Local Municipality council nominated and elected African Independent Congress (AIC) councillor Jack Malindi as its third executive mayor in three years on Wednesday, 16 August 2023.
During a special council sitting at the Harry Gwala Multipurpose Centre in Zamdela, Sasolburg, Malindi was elected unopposed. His nomination by the African Transformation Movement (ATM) was seconded by the ANC.
