METRO FM, the heartbeat of South Africa’s radio landscape, has unveiled new lineup set to take the airwaves by storm from April 01 until the next year.

Echoing the winds of change, SABC Spokesperson Mmoni Seapolelo articulated the station’s excitement for the future. “The new lineup will see some of the listeners’ favorites returning as well as talented new additions to the station. The 2024/25 lineup is an amplification of the station’s winning formula, which saw it gain success last year, by increasing its listenership and revenue.”

Kina Nhlengethwa, METRO FM Business Manager, shared her enthusiasm for the enhancements made to the station’s programming. “We have amplified the current line-up and are supporting the growth of weekend shows with exciting changes. Our 2024 offering will ensure that the station remains relatable and inspirational to listeners who are constantly seeking inspiration for growth and progression.”

True to its promise of delivering quality content, METRO FM is reintroducing some fan-favorite voices while injecting new vigor with a fresh roster of talent. Rorisang Thandekiso will start the weekday on a high note from 05:00 with ‘Command your day’. Luthando “Loot Love” Shosha and her flair are set to invigorate the afternoon drive alongside Thabo “Tbo Touch” Molefe on ‘The Touch Down’.

Enhancements to the weekend segment look promising with Roxanne McKenzie teaming up with Ryan the DJ on ‘Urban Beat’. Zola Myeza will join Somizi Mhlongo for the ‘The Weekend Breakfast Sounds Good’ show, adding her distinctive touch to the mix.

An exciting new show is in store focusing on music and urban lifestyle. Scheduled for Saturday evenings, it will feature Quinton “Naked DJ“ Masina and newcomer Thato Immaculate, destined to be an instant hit among the youthful demographic.

The Sunday programming will embrace soulful tunes with Paul Mtirara on ‘The Chill Factor’ and Msizi Shembe’s ‘Sunday Soul Therapy’ slot delving into urban jazz, soulful classics, and R&B melodies.

METRO FM’s lineup rework reflects its vision to captivate its audience by leveraging its talent and expansive content, catering to its diverse listeners and various stakeholders.
