Borolelo Primary School, constructed with an investment of R103 million, is a modern facility designed to cater to the educational needs of learners from Grade 1 to 7. According to Mphata Molokwane, the Departmental Spokesperson, the school is equipped with 21 classrooms, an Early Childhood Development block, a cutting-edge ICT lab, a science lab that will serve learners from Grade R to 7, a multipurpose room, separate ablution facilities for boys and girls, a fully equipped kitchen for the National School Nutrition Programme, an administration block, and a library among other notable facilities.

The opening of Borolelo Primary comes as a response to the need to alleviate overcrowding at the existing Kgetleng Primary School. MEC Motsumi highlighted the importance of this development, stating, “As we celebrate 30 years since the dawn of our democracy today, the opening of Borolelo Primary School signifies a vital step towards securing a brighter future for our children.”

MEC Motsumi further added, “We constructed Borolelo in response to overcrowding at the existing Kgetleng Primary School because to us as the Department we understand nurturing young minds needs a conducive environment that allows learners to be free and empowered to reach their full potential.”

The establishment of Borolelo Primary School is not only a leap forward in educational infrastructure but also a beacon of economic upliftment for the local community. The construction phase brought about job opportunities, and the existence of the school promises to continue fuelling local development.

“This is the true essence of the freedom we celebrate today – the freedom to learn, to grow, and to contribute meaningfully to our nation”, Motsumi emphasised
