Man to Appear in Court for Alleged Murder of Elderly Man in Ga-Ramauba Village

A 39-year-old man is scheduled to appear in the Praktiseer Magistrates Court on Monday, facing charges of murder following a fatal altercation with a 66-year-old man in Ga-Ramauba Village. The incident occurred on Friday and has left the local community in shock.

Incident Details

According to reports, a dispute erupted between the suspect and the elderly man in Ga-Ramauba Village, located within the Praktiseer area. During the confrontation, it is alleged that the suspect struck the victim with an iron rod, inflicting severe injuries.

South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson Malesela Ledwaba provided details of the scene:

“The victim was found in the shack, laying on the floor having a head injury and also a fracture on his leg. The police and emergency medical services personnel were summoned to the scene. The emergency medical services personnel pronounced the old man dead on the scene.”

Arrest and Investigation

Following the incident, the suspect was promptly arrested. He had also sustained injuries during the altercation and was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Upon his release, he will face a charge of murder.

Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the motive behind the dispute that led to the fatal outcome. Community members are urged to come forward with any information that may assist in the investigation.
