By Thys Khiba – A 35-year-old man accused of distributing pornographic images, which had superimposed faces of President Cyril Ramaphosa, Police Minister Bheki Cele and his wife, has appeared at the Pretoria Magistrates Court.

Scebi Thabiso Nene is facing charges of two counts of crimeninjuria, this is after he sent the pornographic images with overlaid faces of the President of South Africa, his excellency, Cyril Ramaphosa, the Minister of Police Bheki Cele, and his wife to a complainant who reported the matter.
It has been reported that the Hawks launched an investigation after the images circulated on social media at the start of May.
Nene was arrested in Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu-Natal on 21 May and is remanded in custody.
NPA spokesperson in Gauteng, Lumka Mahanjana indicated the matter was transferred to Pietermaritzburg Magistrates Court for his appearance on 30 May.
