Bloemfontein – The Police in Bloemfontein have arrested a 36-year-old man in possession of valuable antiques.
“On Friday 15 October at about 05:20, the team received intelligence driven information on a suspect who was allegedly in possession of Kruger Rands. They reacted on the information and arrested 36-year-old male with a plastic bag after he was found in a meter taxi in Parkweg near the Municipal swimming pool.” said , Brigadier Motantsi Makhele
“In the plastic bag and in his pockets of the trouser, members found Antique watches dating back in the 1800 period, binoculars used by the Anglo boer War soldiers, Antique knives, medals and coins. All to the value of approximately R600 000. “
Makhele says the suspect could not give police a clear explanation of where he found the valuable Antiques.
The suspect will appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate court soon for possession of suspected stolen goods.
