Mamelodi Sundowns defeated AmaZulu FC 2-0 at Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium in Pretoria on Tuesday, 11 March 2025. Goals from Peter Shalulile and Arthur Sales ensured that Sundowns collected another three points, keeping their lead at the top of the Betway Premiership intact.
Sundowns in Control From Start to Finish
Heading into the fixture, Sundowns were overwhelming favourites, having dominated the league so far. The match saw the home side controlling possession and dictating the tempo, while AmaZulu struggled to create clear-cut opportunities.
First Half: Tight Contest With Few Clear Chances
The opening 45 minutes saw Mamelodi Sundowns enjoying most of the possession, but AmaZulu’s defensive organisation made it difficult for them to break through.

With AmaZulu pushing for an equaliser, Sundowns hit them with a late goal to kill off the contest.
Lucas Ribeiro Costa played a well-timed pass to Arthur Sales. Sales sprinted into the box and fired a powerful shot into the roof of the net, making it 2-0.
