Maseru, 07 October 2025 – Lioli Football Club has announced the departure of its long-serving spokesperson, Tankiso ‘Basden’ Moletsane, following the expiration of his contract. The club expressed heartfelt gratitude for his dedication and wished him success in his next venture.
This move comes as Moletsane steps into a new role elsewhere, marking the end of a chapter filled with passion and commitment at one of Lesotho’s premier football teams. Known for his engaging communication style, Moletsane played a key part in keeping fans updated and building the club’s profile. As Lioli FC continues its journey in the Vodacom Premier League, the team remains focused on its goals, urging supporters to rally behind the players.
This transition highlights the dynamic nature of football administration, where talented individuals often move on to fresh challenges.
The announcement has sparked well-wishes from fans and the football community, recognising Moletsane’s contributions during his time with the club.
Club’s Farewell and Appreciation
In a statement released today, Lioli FC’s management and staff paid tribute to Moletsane’s work ethic and warmth. “We, as the management and staff of Lioli Football Club, would like to thank Basden in a special way. We worked with him warmly, and he performed his duties with love and full dedication. Even as we part ways, we maintain good relations,” the club said.
They added: “Go well, Basden. Wherever you go, work hard and with the same dedication we saw you display under Morena Masupha here.”
Moletsane’s role involved handling media relations, public updates, and promoting the club’s activities. His departure follows the natural end of his contract, with no indication of any discord.
Moletsane’s Contributions to Lioli FC
During his tenure, Moletsane helped strengthen Lioli FC’s voice in the Lesotho football scene. The club, nicknamed Tse Nala, has a rich history, having won multiple league titles and competed in continental tournaments. Moletsane’s efforts in communication ensured fans stayed connected, especially during key matches and community events.
